After such an exhilarating tournament, let’s take a look at who would make the unstoppable force that would be a side picked from the competitions best performer stars, in our Team of the Tournament…

5. Beth Mooney
It was not often that Australia found themselves relying on their lower order batters, but when they did it was Beth Mooney who did the business. She carried her bat five times and racked up a total of 268 runs in total. An invaluable, reliable player to have in the batting line-up. | Getty Images

6. Harmanpreet Kaur
Harmanpreet Kaur was a defiant force for India and refused to back down until the very final over of their match against South Africa. Kaur produced a strike rate of 91.64 in her seven innings and made 318 runs overall. Her 109 against the West Indies and two additional fifties in the tournament kept India fighting for a semi final spot right until the end. | Getty Images

7. Hayley Matthews
West Indies were not the likely contenders for the fourth semi-final spot but their superb group stage saw them right in the mix. Hayley Matthews scored a total of 226 runs and took 10 wickets. In her first match against New Zealand Matthews scored 119 and then went on to take 4-15 to save her country from defeat to Bangladesh. Her economy of 4.22 was vital in helping West Indies stay afloat for as long as they did. | Getty Images

8. Stafanie Taylor
West Indies captain and another all-rounder, Stafanie Taylor was another top performer. Scoring vital half centuries and a 48 for her team as well as taking wickets at crucial moments for her side throughout the tournament, Taylor would be an excellent vice-captain for Meg Lanning’s international XI. | Getty Images
