Hide AdEngland won the three match series 2-1.The first match was won by England by two runs, with Dawid Malan top scoring on 66 off 43 balls. The second match saw England win by six wickets as Jos Buttler smashed 77 off 54 balls. Australia managed to take the third match by five wickets. Both Aaron Finch and Mitchell Marsh scored 39 while Adam Zampa took two wickets.
What are England and Australia’s T20 World Cup stories so far?
Australia have only played one match so far in the Super 12 stage of the competition and will play their second on Thursday 28 October 2021, two days before they are then set to take on England.


In their first match, Australia beat South Africa by five wickets with Steve Smith unsurprisingly scoring the most runs, making 35 off 34 balls. Australia’s bowling unit were all impressive as Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Adam Zampa all took two wickets apiece with Glen Maxwell and Pat Cummins also taking one each.
England’s start to the T20 World Cup has been exceptionally strong as they have thrashed both Pakistan and Bangladesh. They will hope that this confidence and winning streak will continue as they take on one of the strongest teams in their group.
