Arsenal were ‘offered chance’ to sign Victor Osimhen this summer

Arsenal rejected the chance to sign Victor Osimhen this summer, according to a report from Daily Briefing. Napoli gave Arsenal the opportunity to snap him up for a fee of around £105 million - a fee which would have equalled their record transfer which came when Declan Rice joined from West Ham United last summer.

Nevertheless, the Gunners turned this down and then decided to not sign a new striker in the transfer window, instead choosing to rely on Kai Havertz as their number nine. Instead, Osimhen made the jump to Turkish giants Galatasaray on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Manchester United sign Tommy Rowe as player/coach

Manchester United have snapped up a free agent who most recently played for Doncaster Rovers in League Two - Tommy Rowe has joined their Under-21s team as a player/coach following a successful trial period, according to a report from Manchester Evening News.

Rowe has impressed the United hierarchy with his fitness, attitude and knowledge of the game - at 35 years of age, he has plenty of experience under his belt. While Rowe spent a total of three spells with Rovers, he also played for Stockport County, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bristol City over the course of his career. Additionally, he also trained with United as a youngster, all the way back in 2003.
