England boss Gareth Southgate faces a number of huge selection decisions in the coming weeks as he leads the Three Lions into a fourth major tournament since arriving in September 2016.
Southgate has a wealth of experience and young talent at his disposal, but will be forced to whittle his provisional 33-man squad down to just 26 shortly after Friday’s final warm-up friendly against England’s Euro 2016 foes Iceland.
Southgate admits that he is ‘spinning plates’ over a number of his key decisions. He said: "We understand the significance for all of the players so we're giving it the respect and attention it deserves to make fair, right decisions. Of course, it's always going to be subjective. It's not just getting the best individuals in, there's a positional element to that as well.”
The England boss continued: "We're spinning a lot of plates trying to get individuals into things, manage minutes, perform well and everything else.”
The former Middlesbrough boss named a quintet of uncapped players in his provisional squad including Jarrad Branthwaite, Curtis Jones, Jarell Quansah, Adam Wharton and James Trafford. But have they done enough to earn a place on the plane?
Here we take a look at the 10 England stars most at risk - including the seven we believe that Southgate will cut from the final squad.

1. GK: Dean Henderson (Crystal Palace)
Dean Henderson ended the season in good form for Crystal Palace and is more proven at the top level than fellow competitor James Trafford. However, third choice goalkeepers are often brought in with a view to the future - meaning the younger Trafford may get the nod for tournament experience. | Getty Images

2. GK: James Trafford (Burnley)
Former Man City goalkeeper James Trafford earned plenty of plaudits last summer when he helped England U21's lift the European Championships without conceding a single goal. However, his first season in the Premier League has been a struggle and he lost his place in the Burnley line-up to Arijanet Muric shortly before the club's relegation was confirmed. | Getty Images

3. LB: Luke Shaw (England)
Luke Shaw is England's best and most natural left back from the provisional squad. However, his lack of game time due to injury in recent weeks makes him a 'long shot' to make the final cut, according to Gareth Southgate. | Getty Images

4. CB: Jarell Quansah (Liverpool)
Jarell Quansah has enjoyed a solid breakout season for the Reds, but with just 17 top-flight appearances may miss out to some of the more experienced options. | Liverpool FC via Getty Images
