Former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel could find himself back in the UK - with a new job as England manager.
The German gaffer, who has also previously coached the likes of Bayern Munich and PSG, is recognised throughout Europe as a serial winner, getting trophies at every club he moves to.
But as much as his on-pitch abilities are touted, his relationships off the field have also bagged plenty of headlines. From a shock divorce from his wife to quickly finding a new fling, Tuchel wastes no time in getting down to business.
Here’s what happened with Tuchel’s marriage that led to his divorce - and how things are going with his new partner.
Divorce from Sissi Tuchel
Three years ago, Sissi filed for divorce from Thomas Tuchel after 13 years of marriage. According to friends, the former journalist cited that the pair had “exhausted” all avenues of reconciliation. The then-Mrs Tuchel moved to Britain seven months after her husband took the Chelsea job, with the manager initially staying in a hotel before buying a £7m home in Cobham, Surrey - near the Blues’ training ground.
Speaking to the Daily Mail at the time, a source close to the couple said: “Sissi and Thomas have tried to avoid splitting but in the end there was no other way. It is very sad and now it is all about making sure their daughters are the top priority. Papers were lodged last week to get the divorce under way.”
Sissi had reportedly given up her career to move to the UK and raise their two daughters. The news came shortly after Chelsea had been beaten 4-1 by Brentford at Stamford Bridge.
A new fling
Following his split from long-term wife Sissi, Tuchel could be forgiven for taking his time to pick up the pieces and recollect himself before jumping back into the dating game. But in March last year, he was spotted on holiday with a new partner - just one week after his divorce was granted by London’s High Court.
Photographs from paparazzi in Sardinia showed the German holidaying with Natalie Max, a Brazilian marketing and communications manager. At the time, the ex-Chelsea boss was seen with the 35-year-old on a boat, where they swam in the sea and held hands together.
A holidaymaker at the time told the Sun: “They looked very much in love. At one stage Natalie ran her hand round the back of his neck and leaned in for a kiss. They went swimming, chilled on the beach, lunched in the hotel’s restaurant and got a boat to the island of Caprera.
