Newcastle United are expected to be the busiest Premier League club when the January transfer window begins to draw to a close.

Eddie Howe has already brought in Chris Wood and Kieran Tripper but there are still a number of high profile names being linked with moves to St James’ Park and many of those could end up going right to the wire.

In the Football League, clubs might look to the ongoing situation at Derby County and see the potential for a last minute bit of ‘cut-price’ business with the administration hit Rams needing to sell players in order to raise money.

Meanwhile, it could be a busy deadline day in Scotland where the likes of Celtic, Hibs and Hearts have already been busy but other big names such as Rangers and Aberdeen still have business to do.
