Any doubts over whether Erling Haaland would adapt to English football in his first season as a Manchester City player have been well and truly put to bed already.

The Norwegian has scored a staggering 25 goals in just 19 Premier League games for the defending champions, including four hat-tricks. Those trebles came against Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest, Manchester United and in last weekend’s 3-0 win over Wolves.

Haaland’s record for hat-tricks in the division already has him in illustrious company and it may not be long before he starts closing in on the record which is currently held by a former City superstar. Here is where Haaland’s hat-trick record in the Premier League compares to other players:

Who has scored the most Premier League hat-tricks?

Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero has scored the most Premier League hat-tricks, with 12. The Argentinian made 275 appearances in English football’s top flight and Haaland has already reached a quarter of his overall total in just 19 games.

The Premier League’s all time top scorer, Alan Shearer, scored 11 hat-tricks while Liverpool legend Robie Fowler has the third most with a total of nine. Harry Kane is the player with the most hat-tricks (eight) who is currently still playing in the division. Here are the top ten all time hat-trick scorers in Premier League history:

  1. Sergio Aguero - 12

Yes, Cristiano Ronaldo scored three hat-tricks in the 103 Premier League goals he netted during his 236 league appearances over two spells at Manchester United. Here are just some of the biggest names who Haaland has already scored more Premier League hat-tricks than: Cristiano Ronaldo; Didier Drogba; Nicolas Anelka; Frank Lampard; Steven Gerrard; Sadio Mane; Dion Dublin; Emmanuel Adebayor.

Other key statistics on Haaland’s Premier League hat-trick record

Haaland is already the most prolific hat-trick scorer of any Norwegian player in the Premier League, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer having netted three. His first hat-trick against Crystal Palace made him the fifth Norwegian to bag a match treble in the league after the former Manchester United boss, Joshua King, John Carew and Jan Age Fjortoft.

Norwegian players have netted 14 Premier League hat-tricks in total. Unsurprisingly, English players lead that table with 161 Premier League hat-tricks, but Haaland could easily drag Norway into second place which is currently held jointly by players from Argentina and the Netherlands with 18.
