The Tampa Bay Buccaneers hopes of reaching the Super Bowl were ended by the LA Rams who advanced to the NFC Championship with a 30-27 win in the Sunshine State.
Now, questions are being asked over the playing future of Bucs quarter-back Tom Brady and whether the NFL legend will be calling it a day on his illustrious career.
Brady, 44, has won seven Super Bowls and five Super Bowl MVPs while smashing almost every conceivable record in the league over two decades.
Here’s what has been said about Brady’s future following the Buccaneers loss to the Rams:
Will Tom Brady retire?
At this time, Tom Brady’s immediate future is unclear but there are signs pointing towards the 44-year old retiring from the sport.
CBS Sports have reported on Brady’s future in the league, saying it is uncertain following the 2022 NFL playoffs with the former claiming that the Bucs are preparing for the player to leave their organisation.
A source close to the QB reportedly told CBS Sport: “He hasn’t signalled one way or the other what he’s going to do, and maybe he doesn’t know himself, but it wouldn’t be surprising if this was the end.”
Another Bucs cource reportedly said: Nothing’s been said, but there is a sense among some guys in the locker room that this is it, one way or the other. It’s just little things here or there they are picking up on. Maybe it turns out to be nothing.”
Meanwhile, the NFL Network have said that Brady’s future is “up in the air” with the player not yet having made a decision.
“For the first time at the age of 44 Tom Brady’s future is finally actually up in the air.” They tweeted.
