Kell Brook came out victorious from his box office grudge match with Amir Khan, stopping the former Olympic silver medallist in the sixth round.

The 35-year old was the pre-fight favourite to win the much anticipated contest at Manchester’s AO Arena and demolished his opponent in convincing style.

The fight started at an incredible pace and Brook was able to knock the Khan down in the first round before keeping the pressure up throughout the following five rounds before referee Victor Loughlin stepped in.

Not only does the win settle a decade long score between the two but it has also secured a decent prize purse for Brook, here is how much the Sheffield native takes home:

Despite winning the match, reports have suggested that it is the defeated Khan who takes home the “lions share” of the purse.

According to The Sun, Brook has bagged a coll £5 million for his victory while Khan will receive £5 million in defeat.

The same piblication claim that Brook is expected totake home a cut of the cash made from pay-per-view sales.

Brook’s net worth is unclear with different sites stating various figures. GiveMeSport claim the 25-year old’s worth is £16 million while also claiming that Khan is worth substantially more are £30 million.

High value fights against the likes of Gennady Golovkin and Errol Spence Jr have helped increase Brook’s value over the past few years.

The victory over Khan takes his professional record to 40 wins and three career losses with 28 of those wins coming by knockout and the other 12 by decision.

It is unclear where Kell Brook will go next in his career following the win over Khan.

Both rising welterweight star Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr, who beat Brook’s former stable-mate Liam Williams in a middleweight contest earlier this month, want to fight The Special One next.

“It’s safe to say he’s still got it,” said Benn, the son of former two-weight world champion Nigel.

Brook was in agreement – but admitted he may bow out while his stock is high.

“This is the icing on the cake in my career, I can feel at peace knowing I’ve beaten him. Do I want to carry on? I’m going to sit down with my family and consider my future in the sport.

"They won’t remember all of my fights they’ll just remember me fighting Amir Khan.”

As for Khan, he was straightforward following the defeat and has said that it may be time to hang up the golves.

Saturday looked a case of one fight too many for the Bolton born star, especially after almost three years of inactivity.

"I think it could be (my last fight),” he said.

“I’ve always said I never want boxing to retire me, I want to retire from boxing. Too much of that (punishment) can be sometimes harmful in the future.”
