Floyd Mayweather has said his imminent return to boxing will be for more than one fight, and has labelled his comeback as a ‘limited edition showcase’.

Mayweather officially retired from professional boxing in 2017 before he fought Conor McGregor in a lucrative crossover bout, with Mayweather victorious as he preserved his perfect record.

Since then he has taken part in two exhibition fights, with his first being a routine one-round win against a 23-year-old featherweight kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa.

In his most recent exhibition, he took on YouTube star Logan Paul in a highly anticipated event. Paul proved to be made of stern stuff and pushed Mayweather to his limits and the event lasted for more than eight rounds.

After the Paul fight, Mayweather insisted that his time in the ring was finally over, both in a professional and spectacle capacity.

However, seven months after he was last in the ring, he has made a u-turn on his words and now plans to have several events take place in the middle east.

Mayweather is the richest boxer in the sport’s history, and plans to cash in on more events in the future.

He said: “Well, I don’t like to call what I’m doing a fight. I like to call it a limited edition boxing showcase. Because it’s bigger than just boxing.”

Despite his name attracting the masses, Mayweather confirmed his future events will be in front of limited crowds, saying: “It’s going to be a very special crowd, not too many people.

“So, if you get the chance to come here, you must know, you’re very, very special for this event.”
