England football took to twitter to announce their squad for November and the upcoming qualifying matches against Albania and San Marino.

Marcus Rashford has been recalled to the squad after a three month absence. The Manchester United striker was part of the team that led England to the Euros 2020 final ultimately losing out to Italy in a penalty shootout, but the 24-year-old has not been part of England’s recent success in the World Cup qualifying matches. Rashford returned to his club after undergoing surgery on his shoulder on 16 October.

In the five appearances he has made for Manchester United, he has scored three goals.

Rashford rejoins the squad along with Jude Bellingham and Trent Alexander-Arnold, while Rashford’s teammate Jadon Sancho misses out on selection as he continues to struggle with his form for his club.

Jesse Lingard will also miss out on the upcoming matches against Albania and San Marino as he, too, has had issues with lack of form and lack of sufficient game time.

When are England’s upcoming matches?

England will host Albania at Wembley on Friday 12 November 2021 before they then travel to San Marino for 15 November 2021.

The Lions currently sit at the top of their table and have not lost a single game in their qualifying campaign. In the eight matches they have played, they have won six and drawn two. The first draw came against Poland on 8 September and the second came when they hosted Hungary on the last match day on 12 October.

Their first opponent in the next round of matches, Albania, currently sit third in the group while San Marino are bottom and have not yet won a match.

In order to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, England need four points from their next two matches.

Who is in the England Squad for November?

Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold has been recalled to the squad alongside Rashford and has not played for the Three Lions since 5 September. His most recent match for Liverpool was played yesterday (Wednesday 3 November) where he assisted both Diogo Jota and Sadio Mané’s goals.
