Novak Djokovic, the number one tennis player in the world, is set to make his return to the tennis court for the Dubai Tennis Championships later this month.
The Serbian tennis ace was due to play at the Australian Open but his vaccination status meant he was deported from the country just a day before his first scheduled match.

Hide AdIn a recent BBC interview, Djokovic stated that he will continue his stance on remaining unvaccinated and would rather sacrifice trophies rather than getting the jab.
When asked why, by the interviewer Amol Rajan, he said: “Because the principles of decision making on my body are more important than any title or anything else. I’m trying to be in tune with my body as much as I possibly can.”
It is currently looking more and more unlikely that Djokovic will be able to play in any French tournaments due to their new Covid passport regulations and as the French Open is the next Grand Slam, the tennis player will have to wait until Wimbledon and beyond if he is to match Rafael Nadal’s 21 Grand Slam winning record.
Djokovic will travel soon to compete in the Dubai Tennis Championships where the women’s tournament is already underway.
