Yarde beat Stefani Koykov to set up the clash with Beterbiev and the pair have been preparing months for this fight after it was originally scheduled to take place in October. The British boxer has had one world title fight before but lost to Sergey Kovalev back in 2019, where he appeared to lack the necessary experience.

Yarde will now take on Beterbiev for another world title shot and here is all you need to know ahead of the fight…

When is Beterbiev vs Yarde?

The 12-round light heavyweight bout will take place on Saturday 28 January 2023. It will be held at the OVO Arena in Wembley and ringwalks are set to get underway at around 10.30pm GMT.

“I need to stop fighting monsters but I got into this sport to fight the best. Lions have no choice but to hunt if they are going hungry.

“Since I’ve started boxing I’ve not had more than one week out of the gym. Beterbiev had more than 200 amateur fights and 18 professional fights, but I’m going to be sharp and focused. In the light-heavyweight division, he has been nothing but a wrecking ball, knocking out every opponent so far. He’s very powerful but I feel I’m faster and, by age, I’m fresher, but in experience I’m behind him.”
