The draw for the first round of the Australian Open was originally supposed to take place 3pm local time (04:00 GMT) but was delayed by one hour and 15 minutes.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison held a news conference at 3:45pm, although he declined to comment on when a decision regarding Novak Djokovic would be made.

The nine-time champion has remained the draw - despite uncertainty over whether he will be deported - and is set to face fellow Serb Miomir Kecmanovic.


Elsewhere, Britain’s former world number one Andy Murray has been drawn against Nikoloz Basilashvili - whom he beat in the Sydney Tennis Classic quarter-final this week.
Meanwhile, Spanish sixth seed Rafael Nadal will begin his tournament against unseeded American Marcos Giron.

Dan Evans - who is set to face Aslan Karatsev in the Sydney Classic semi-final tomorrow - will take on Belgium’s David Goffin.
Daniil Medvedev, who lost out on last year’s final to Djokovic, will play Swiss Henri Laaksonen.
