The Calcutta Cup will be contested on the opening weekend of Rugby’s Greatest Championship as Gregor Townsend’s Scots welcome Eddie Jones and England to Murrayfield.

The 2022 Six Nations Championship gets underway this weekend and rugby’s oldest fixture will take centre stage in Round One as Scotland host England.

The Scots have had the better of their rivals in recent years with Gregor Townsend’s side winning two of the last four meetings while Eddie Jones and England have won one and their has been one draw.

The match will take place in Edinburgh and will be book-ended by Ireland v Wales earlier in the day and France v Italy on Sunday.

Scotland v England is the second of the first round matches at the 2022 Six Nations and will kick off at 16:45 UK time on Saturday, February 5.

Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh, which hosts all of Scotland’s home Six Nations fixtures, will be the venue.

The two sides will compete for the Calcutta Cup, a 150 year old trophy which is played for annually at the competition by the two nations.

Scotland are the current holders, having beaten England at the 2021 Six Nations but Eddie Jones’ side did win on their last visit to Murrayfield in 2020.
