He will now face Daniil Medvedev, of Russia, in the final of the Australian Open 202, with his eyes set on making history with a 21st carerr Grand Slam.

Rafael Nadal was amongst the early favourites to go far at the competition following the withdrawal of six time winner Roger Federer and the events which saw reigning champion Novak Djokovic deported from the country.
