Tom Hiddleston plays the mischievous adopted son of Odin and brother of Thor, Loki.
He was raised on Asgard after Odin rescued him as a baby from the Frost Giants during a war between the two planets. He was raised to believe he was Odin’s son, making Thor the only person standing between him and the Asgard throne.
He is the most powerful sorcerer in the whole of Asgard, his magical abilities include astral projection, shape-shifting, hypnosis, molecular rearrangement, energy blasts, levitating, conjuration, cryokinesis, telekinesis and teleportation.

Loki has earned the title “God of Mischief” as he is always conspiring to become king and rule earth, though does seem to have some loyalty.
Despite his jealousy of the King of Thunder, Thor, they do form allegences when it suits Loki - such as taking revenge on the dark elves for the death of their mother, Frigga.

What is the Loki series about?
The Loki series follows on from Avengers: End Game, where Loki returns - seemingly from the dead - to save Thor.
Loki was thought to have been killed by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, but the Avengers travel back in time in Endgame to save the Infinity Stones before Thanos gets to them.

Hide AdAs the Avengers arrive back in New York, 2012, Loki is still alive. He takes the Tesseract - and the space stone inside it - before being absconded to another universe.
Therefore, the Disney+ series Loki is likely to be about the other multiverse he has been banished to, and how he impacts Earth while living in a rewritten reality.
Marvel said the series will “follow Loki as the trickster and shape-shifter pops up throughout human history as an unlikely influencer on historical events.”

Whether the series is a prequel in which he impacts events before the Avengers series, or does so in real time is yet to be determined.
Who is in the Loki cast?
Tom Hiddleston will return as Loki, supported by Marvel newcomer Owen Wilson as Mobius M. Mobius, a member of the Time Variance Authority (TVA), an organisation that monitors the various timelines of the Multiverse.
