After pandemic related delays, Billions is finally returning for its sixth season.

The story of a US attorney facing up against a hedge fund manager stars Paul Giamatti and Corey Stoll (with Stoll replacing previous star Damien Lewis). The sixth season of Billions begins in the UK on 24 January.

Here’s everything you need to know about Billions.

Season 6 finds Axe Capital with a new hedge fund manager in charge: Corey Stoll’s Mike Prince. Attorney Chuck Rhoades remains determined to take him down, though, just as much as he wanted to take down Bobby Axelrod.

The official synopsis reads “As Mike Prince takes his place on the Axe Capital throne, he’s determined to change the game — and new money means no mercy. Meanwhile, Chuck Rhoades is convinced no one should have that much wealth or that much power.”

“With Prince firmly in Chuck’s crosshairs, forces will be rallied and scores will be settled. And as all the players seek out new alliances, only one thing’s for certain … wealth means wars.”

Who is in the cast?

Corey Stoll stars as Mike Prince. You might know Stoll from The Many Saints of Newark, Scenes from a Marriage, or Ant-Man. Stoll first appeared in Billions in Season 5.

Paul Giamatti returns as Chuck Rhoades. You’ll know Giamatti from his roles in Cinderella Man, John Adams, and The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Billions also stars Maggie Siff as Wendy Rhoades, Asia Kate Dillon as Taylor Mason, David Costabile as Mike “Wags” Wagner, Condolad Rashad as Kate Sacker and Daniel Breaker as Roger “Scooter” Dunbar.

Has Damien Lewis left the show?

Damien Lewis starred as Bobby Axelrod in the first five seasons of Billions – in a shocking development at the end of the series 5 finale, Axelrod was forced to move to Switzerland, and Damien Lewis left the show.

That marked the end of his time as a series regular, though it’s certainly possible he might return as a guest star at some later point.

Is there a trailer?

Yes, you can see it right here.

How can I watch it?

Billions is available on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV from Monday 24 January at 9pm.

Why should I watch it?

It’s often compared to Succession, with a similar sort of boardroom battle of wits driving the drama.
