Actor Mizuki Itagaki dies at 24 after going missing three months ago

The family of Mizuki Itagaki have announced that he has passed away in a statement.

Actor Mitzuki Itagaki has died at 24 and the news of his passing was revealed by his family in a statement on his Instagram Story. Asia One reported that the story read: "We regret to inform you that actor Mizuki Itagaki has passed away due to an unfortunate incident."

“We would like to express our sincerest gratitude to all the fans who supported him during his lifetime, as well as to all the people who took care of him."

The statement revealed that actor Mizuki had been missing since January "due to a mental illness he had been suffering from since last year" and were informed by the police that his body had been found in Tokyo.

The statement went on to say that “He was always dedicated to his entertainment career with the desire to bring smiles and joy to everyone, but just as he was beginning to take positive steps towards returning to work, his life came to an end this way, which must have been heartbreaking for him."

Who was Mizuki Itagaki?

Mizuki Itagaki was best known as an actor, singer and model who was a member of the boy band M!LK. Koreaboo reported that “Previously, Itagaki Mizuki announced his departure from Stardust Promotion last year and closed his official fan club.”

Fans have been paying tribute to Mizuki Itagaki on social media and one fan took to Facebook and wrote: “Why too soon?” whilst another wrote: “OMG, RIP.” One fan on X wrote: “It hurts to know that someone who gave us so much joy and energy was struggling behind the scenes.

“You weren’t just kind, you were also an incredibly talented actor. I wish the world had been kinder to you. Wherever you are now, I hope you’ve found peace. Thank you for everything you gave, even when it was hard.

“You’ll always be remembered. Rest well, Itagaki Mizuki.”
