Stephen Bear has paid back the £22k he made illegally by sharing a sex tape of himself and ex-girlfriend Georgia Harrison on OnlyFans.

Former Celebrity Big Brother winner Stephen Bear has repaid the £22,305 that he illegally earned by sharing a private sex tape of him and ex-girlfriend reality TV star Georgia Harrison online, after a judge made a confiscation order for that amount.

The 34-year-old faced nine months in prison if he did not pay the sum within three months of the order made by judge Christopher Morgan at Chelmsford Crown Court in March of this year. The judge made the order at a Proceeds of Crime Act hearing, after Bear walked out of prison in January, having served 10-and-a-half months of his 21-month sentence for sharing the film. The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has confirmed that Bear has since paid the £22,305 confiscation order in full.

Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor Debbie Price said: “It is right Stephen Bear has paid the full amount of his confiscation order – it’s important criminals understand that, aside from the sentence they receive, we will also go after their bank accounts and assets to prevent them from enjoying the money they made from their crimes.”

The disgraced TV personality, who won ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ in 2016, was jailed on March 3, 2023 after filming himself having sex with Harrison in his garden in 2020 and uploading the footage to his OnlyFans account without her permission. Separately, the judge ordered that Bear pay Harrison £5,000 in compensation, which he said “can be enforced through the magistrates’ court” if it is “not satisfied”. Bear was jailed in March last year after being found guilty of voyeurism and of two counts of disclosing private sexual photographs and films with intent to cause distress.

Harrison said at the Proceeds of Crime Act hearing in March this year that Bear had “sold his house from prison – he sold his house to a company called We Buy Any House for well under market value”.

Essex Police said half of the confiscation order money goes to the Home Office, with the rest divided between the CPS, His Majesty’s Courts and Tribunals Service (HMCTS) and the police. The force said that, of the funds given to the police, different commands are able to “bid for equipment that will contribute towards future asset recovery” and a contribution is made to grant-giving body the Essex Community Foundation.

This comes a month after ‘Love Island’ star Harrison has told MPs that that sex video her ex-boyfriend Bear made of her spread like a ‘house fire’. The 29-year-old star was speaking to the the Women and Equalities Committee, and during her comments she also called on social media companies to do more to stop the sharing of such content.

She told MPs how the video “went viral to a point I can’t explain” as it spread around multiple porn sites and was also circulated on WhatsApp. She said: “It absolutely horrified me that an individual had done this to me but what most horrified me was that these platforms were hosting these videos that were unconsented.”

Harrison made history by changing the law in revenge porn in response to her ordeal. She was among the many campaigners calling for changes in the law. Revenge porn, the distribution of sexually explicit images or videos of individuals without their consent, was made a criminal offence in 2015.
