What is it about?

Frayed is about Sammy Cooper, a rich Australian housewife (played by Sarah Kendall, who also writes the series) whose husband has recently died. Penniless after his death, she’s forced to leave London and return home to Australia with her children.

The second series opens with Sammy Cooper and her children returning to London. She sets about trying to prove that her husband’s lawyer Rufus (Robert Webb) – who is living in their former home – conned the family and effectively stole their belongings.

Who stars in Frayed?

Sarah Kendall writes and stars in the series. Kendall is a stand-up comedian, and you’ll likely recognise her best from Taskmaster – Kendall competed on, and won, the 11 series of the comedy competition.

She’s joined by Australian actor Kerry Armstrong, who plays her mother. Armstrong has appeared in a number of things, from Neighbours to Murder She Wrote, but she’s best known for her recurring role in Dynasty as Elena, Duchess of Branagh.

The rest of the cast is made up of a number of Australian and British actors, like Ben Mingay (Packed to the Rafters), George Houvardas (Packed to the Rafters), Diane Morgan (Death to 2021, Mandy), and Robert Webb (Peep Show).

Is there a trailer?

Yes there is, and you can see it right here and see as Sammy Cooper makes the difficult transition back to life in London.

When is it on, and how can I watch it?

The series begins on Sky Max in the UK on 27 January, and will also be available to stream on Now TV.

Frayed is already available to watch on HBO Max in the US (and ABC iView in Australia), having premiered there in late 2021.

Why should I watch it?

Because Sarah Kendall is quite a talented comedian, and it’s always interesting to see how a stand up translates their comic skills from the stage to the screen.
