Hide AdWhat is Peacemaker about?
Peacemaker is a spinoff of James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, which was released in cinemas last year – it starred Idris Elba, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman and John Cena, amongst others, as a group of supervillains and bad guys enlisted to work for the US government.
This series follows John Cena’s character Peacemaker on his next mission – though he seemingly died during the course of the film, a post-credits sequence revealed that Peacemaker was still alive.
In this series, Peacemaker has to try and stop an alien invasion/bodyswap conspiracy, while navigating his complicated relationship with his racist father.
Who is in the cast of Peacemaker?
John Cena stars as Peacemaker. You probably won’t have seen him, for obvious reasons, in films like the Fast and the Furious franchise, or during his days as a WWE wrestler.

They’re joined by Danielle Brooks (Orange is the New Black), who plays Leota Adebayo – an original character created for this series – and Robert Patrick (Terminator 2), who plays Peacemaker’s white supremacist father.
Freddie Stroma (Harry Potter) and Nhut Le (Raven’s Home) will both play recognisable DC Comics characters, with Conrad as Vigilante and Le as Judomaster.
The series was created, written, and the majority of its episodes were directed by James Gunn, who’s best known as the director of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy series. He’s currently working on a Guardians Christmas special for Disney+, and a third Guardians of Galaxy movie as well.
