Alex Jones and Roman Kemp will be joined by Christopher Reeve’s children on The One Show 

All three of Christopher Reeve’s children Will Reeve, Matthew Reeve and Alexandra Reeve-Givens attended the UK Premiere Of "Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story" at The BFI London Film Festival on Monday evening. Alexandra and Matthew are set to appear on The One Show on Tuesday.

The new movie is about the late American actor’s rise to fame after landing the role of Superman, his life-changing accident and the legacy he left behind. The movie coincides with the 20th anniversary of his death which was on October 10 204. Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story is set to be released in cinemas on November 1.

Following the UK premiere of the movie, two of his children Alexandra and Matthew will join Alex Jones and Roman Kemp on The One Show on Tuesday (October 15). Also appearing on the episode will be Aidan Turner and Bella Maclean talking about the TV adaptation of Jilly Cooper's novel Rivals.

The actor rose to fame when he was cast as Superman in the 1978 movie Superman. He went on to star in four Superman movies and had success until his accident in 1995. The actor was in a horseback riding accident on May 27, 1995, that left him paralyzed from the neck down. He spent the rest of his life searching for a cure for spinal cord injuries.

Who was Christopher Reeve married to? 

Before his rise to fame, Christopher Reeve dated British model Gae Exton. The couple reportedly met on the set while filming Superman. They went on to have a 10 year relationship and welcomed Matthew in 1979 and then Alexandra in 1983. Four years later the pair split amicably and shared joint custody of the children. 

Christopher Reeve married American actress and singer Dana Morosini (Dana Reeve) in April 1992. They welcomed son William ‘Will’ a few months later in July. In an interview with abc news in 2020 Will revealed the couple remained married until Christopher Reeves death in 2004. Two years after his death, Dana Reeve died from lung cancer and the Reeve Foundation was renamed the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation.

What happened to William Reeve after both his parents died?

The couples youngest son Will was just 13 when he lost both his parents. In a recent interview with People the 32-year-old actor explained who took care of him growing up. He said: “I moved in with our beloved neighbours who were our best friends and that's been such an unlikely, amazing experience for almost 20 years.” Will also explained that his older half-siblings, Matthew and Alexandra, were also fixtures in his life, acting as parental figures.

Who is the next Superman? 

Just like James Bond and Batman, the man of steel character has seen several different actors take on the role. Since Christopher Reeve we have seen Brandon Routh (Superman Returns 2006) Henry Cavill (2013-202) and next will be David Corenswet who will star in the 2025 movie Superman. 

Dean Cain, (Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman) Tom Welling (Smallville) and Tyler Hoechlin (Superman and Lois) have also played the DC character in TV series.
