Actress Cait Fitton who plays the character took to Coronation Street’s official Instagram account after Lauren Bolton’s shock return on Monday and said: "I'm back, Lauren is back, she's alive.” In February Lauren Bolton went missing from her flat and after blood was found splattered across the walls a murder investigation was launched.
Café owner Roy Cropper was arrested and charged with her suspected murder and spent months in prison before finally being released in May. It was then revealed that lawyer Joel Deering was the ‘killer’ who appeared to beat her to death, however, her body was never found.

Hide AdITV viewers watched Roy get beaten up by a gang of youths and then ending up in hospital after suffering a heart attack. A mysterious hooded female snuck into Roy’s room when he was asleep and fans were shocked when she took her hood down and it was Lauren.
Taking to X fans weren’t very happy about her shock return. One fan wrote: “All this time she wasn't dead? Lol. U lot seriously need to go back to the drawing board. Got bored of that storyline after 2 weeks.”
Another person wrote: “This storyline hasn't been Coronation Street’s best I'm afraid. The show has gone way to wacky. No more serial killers and back the comedy that's what this show is known for in the past. Stop making Coronation Street into EastEnders.”
Whilst a third added: “No evidence of her having been killed. No body. That's why the whole stupid saga of Roy being inside was so ridiculous. Just the crime obsessed writers driving viewers away.”
