The Masked Singer has everyone guessing again and there is no shortage of clues of fan theories this series.
The ITV favourite returned to screens earlier this month with a new group of masked celebrities taking to the stage.
With 12 masked stars taking part this year, we’ve already had three celebrities revealed. Presenter Alex Jones was unmasked as Disc Jockey on the first episode of the series while Professor Green was revealed to be Teabag in episode two. Punk legen John Lydon was unmasked as Yak last weekend.
But with nine celebrities still in the series waiting to be unmasked, clues are starting to pile up for those remaining. This includes the punk-inspired Gargoyle.

What are the clues so far for Gargoyle on The Masked Singer?
Gargoyle has only performed once so far but there are plenty of clues already in their performance and VT. Although remember that some may be red herrings!
For their first performance on The Masked Singer, Gargoyle performed a rendition of ‘Filthy Gorgeous’ by Scissor Sisters.
The clues we have so far for Gargoyle include:,

- Their leather jacket also has the words ‘Gar Girl’ on the back
- They speak with an American accent

- A framed picture of Sally Webster from Coronation Street in placed face down by Gargoyle

Who have the judges guessed for Gargoyle on The Masked Singer?
The judges were left more confused than ever after Gargoyle’s first performance on the show. Some of the panel believed that clues to music and Saturday in the VT could be pointing towards a member of a modern girl band, but they weren’t entirely sure.
Jonathan Ross thought that the girlband references might mean something else, pointing towards the fact that Girls Aloud covered a song by The Pretenders, whose lead singer was Chrissie Hynde. But he didn’t think Gargoyle’s voice matched the legendary rocker. He eventually landed on Helen Flanagan after picking up on the Coronation Street clue but remained unsure.
Maya Jama though the tartan was too obvious to point towards a Scottish star. She revealed that she was getting Ruby Wax energy from Gargoyle.
Mo Gilligan went down the girl band route and went with Frankie Bridge from The Saturdays. Davina McCall also went down this route, linking the girl band reference to a Gargoyle’s natural home on the side of castle and guessed Mollie King.
Who do fans think Gargoyle is on The Masked Singer?
Viewers are split on who Gargoyle could be after their first performance on the show.
A popular guess amongst the fandom is American singer Marcella Detroit, who was part of Shakespears Sister alongside Bananarama member Siobhan Fahey. Eagle-eyed fans have also linked the Sally Webster photograph laid down as a link to Detroit co-penning the hit ‘Lay Down Sally’ for Eric Clapton in 1977.
Other guesses which also picked up some steam on social media included 80s music legend Toyah Willcox, The Saturdays star Una Healy, and Coronation Street actress Sue Devaney.
