Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators has been a huge daytime hti for the BBC, breaking records on the iPlayer.

With a massive success online, the BBC have brought the series to the airwaves with the show now being shown on TV.

But where exactly is the show filmed?

The show is set in Stratford-upon-Avon, which is a nod to the namesake William Shakespeare.

Stratford-upon-Avon is the birthplace of the famous bard.

In fact, the easter eggs go beyond just the setting of the show.

Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators is actually filmed in the Warwickshire town as well.

The titular characters conducte their P.I business in a mock tudor building.

Jo Joyner, who plays Luella Shakespeare in the show, said: “It’s a real privilege to go round some of the places that our locations find, because of that quintessentially British thing – there’s a lot of stately homes or houses.”

Who is in Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators?

Former Eastenders actress Jo Joyner is joined by co-star Mark Benton in the series.

Mark, who is known for his role as Mr Chalk from Waterloo Road, plays Frank Hathaway.

The two main stars are joined by Darren Evans as Spider, Patrick Walshe McBride as Sebastian Brudenell and Tomos Eames as DS Joe Keeler.

Series four will also feature guest starring roles from Red Dwarf’s Danny John-Jules, West End stars Jodie Prenger and Ruthie Henshall and ex-Eastenders favourite Tracy Ann-Oberman.

When is Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators on?

The show airs at 2:15pm every weekday on BBC1 until Thursday 24 February.

There are 10 episodes in series four.

Series four episodes will be available on the BBC iPlayer after they air on TV.
