The eerie atmosphere of NXT Halloween Havoc set the stage for a first night of frightful entertainment as two new champions were crowned on night one of the event. The Lyra Valkyria era of the NXT Women’s division has begun, after a breathtaking battle against NXT Women’s Champion, Becky Lynch. The rising star of the NXT women’s division stunned Lynch by countering The Man’s signature Man Handle Slam, earning a pinfall victory and winning the NXT Women’s Championship in the process.

But they were watched on by one of the most hyped new acquisitions to sign to the WWE; Jade Cargill, complete with her ‘That B**ch’ sunglasses, sat on a throne observing the action, with her eyes in the end solely on the new WWE NXT Women’s champion.

The stakes continued to rise as Chase U clashed with Tony D'Angelo and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo for the NXT Tag Team Championships. With Jacy Jayne's timely intervention, Duke Hudson capitalised on the distraction, rolling up D'Angelo to claim the coveted titles for Chase U, solidifying their dominance in the tag team division as they continue to ride their wave of ‘academic’ access.

The Devil’s Playground Match between Roxanne Perez and Kiana James was a brutal affair, with both competitors utilizing the sinister playground equipment to their advantage. In the end, it was Perez who emerged victorious, unleashing a devastating Pop Rox on the outside, solidifying her dominance in the haunting match.

Following the chaotic opener, the NXT debut of Brian Pillman Jr., known now as Lexis King, captured the audience's attention with his impressive display against Dante Chen, highlighted by a stunning twisting DDT. It marked a promising beginning for the newcomer, foreshadowing potential future successes in the NXT arena and further showing his attempts to move out of the shadow of his father, the late Brian Pillman.

Meanwhile, the NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament continued to captivate the audience with intense semifinal matchups. Kelani Jordan's awe-inspiring split-legged moonsault secured her place in the tournament finals, overcoming Arianna Grace's resilient effort. Lola Vice also showcased her dominance, securing a spot in the finals with a fierce victory over Karmen Petrovic, her vicious head kick leaving a lasting impression.
