WWE Raw October 23 2023 results | Tensions escalate between Cody Rhodes and The Judgement Day

Tensions between the RAW locker room and The Judgement Day seem to be reaching critical mass leading into WWE Crown Jewel after last night’s episode of WWE Raw. The show started off with Cody Rhodes trying to create dissension amongst the ranks of The Judgement Day, stating that although they claim there is no leader, it was interesting that Rhea Ripley seems to be calling the shots. That led to a brutal brawl that saw Priest and JD McDonagh ruthlessly targeting Rhodes' leg with a steel chair.

As the main event unfolded, which saw Jey Uso lose to Damian Priest thanks to an all too common run-in by Judgement Day member Finn Balor, a post-match assault on Jey Uso took a dramatic turn when the injured Cody Rhodes retaliated against Damian Priest. Launching a fierce chair assault on his Crown Jewel opponent's leg, seeking retribution for the earlier attack on his own leg. This dramatic turn of events further intensified the anticipation for their upcoming showdown at WWE Crown Jewel.

Earlier in the night, The New Day managed to secure a victory over The Alpha Academy in a hard-fought tag team match, while Becky Lynch emerged triumphant in an NXT Women's Title Match against the determined Indi Hartwell, despite the latter's valiant effort. The display of sportsmanship between the two competitors after the match was a notable moment of mutual respect.

Additionally, WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Piper Niven and Chelsea Green secured a win over Natalya and Nikki Cross, while Drew McIntyre emerged victorious in a match against Sami Zayn, with an unexpected appearance by Rhea Ripley. Speaking of Rhea Ripley, the Women's World Champion, triggered a chaotic brawl among her challengers, Nia Jax, Raquel Rodriguez, Zoey Stark, and Shayna Baszler, ahead of the Women's World Title Fatal 5-Way Match at WWE Crown Jewel. 

The Raw episode also marked the return of Tommaso Ciampa, who aided Johnny Gargano in defeating Giovanni Vinci, and Logan Paul's contentious exchange with Ricochet, which resulted in a heated altercation.
