The company’s Pineapple Soda has been removed from sale as the faulty cans pose a risk to health. The recall states: “Dalston Soda Company is recalling Dalston’s Pineapple Soda drink because there is a risk that the cans may unexpectedly break apart and leave sharp edges which may cause injury.”

Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling the product. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and informs them what to do if they have bought the product.
Advice to customers who have bought one of the above products is to not try and open it and not to return it to the store. Instead, avoid any unnecessary handling of the product and safely dispose of it in an external waste bin.
Affected customers should then contact Dalston’s Soda Company for a full refund. You can email the company at [email protected], call 07495 169638 or visit the website recall page.
The product, described as “summer in a can”, is currently showing as ‘out of stock on the Dalston’s website. The news will come as a disappointment to fans of the beverage after leaving positive reviews on the company's website, including one who said: "They don't have sweeteners and they don't have added sugar. And they are delicious."
Another said: "I've bought Dalston's soda in bulk for three years now, and neither the drink nor the service from the company ever fails to impress."
Product recalls and withdrawals are issued if there is a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold, then it might be 'withdrawn' - taken off the shelves - or 'recalled' - when customers are asked to return the product. The FSA issues Product Recall Information Notices to let consumers and local authorities know about problems associated with food.
