Heinz is taking the nation’s love of beans to the next level through the launch of its brand-new range of pouch meals, ready in just 90 seconds.

Bringing together almost 140 years of bean expertise with flavours from around the world, and convenient, tasty ingredients, these new pouches make it easier than ever for beans fans to enjoy quick lunches or speedy dinners at home, work or wherever you like to eat your beans.

The new range includes:

Heinz Chilli Black Beanz: Heartily warming black beans simmered in a smoky chipotle sauce. Perfect with rice or tacos for a quick Mexican-inspired feast.

Heinz Curry Chickpeaz: Mildly spiced chickpeas with spinach in a coconut curry sauce. Serve with rice or naan for a speedy, flavour-packed curry night.

Heinz Tomato Cannellini Beanz: Cannellini beans in an Italian-inspired tomato and garlic sauce. Delicious with fresh sourdough for a modern twist on beans on toast.

Each new recipe has been created to fit into busy lives, but just as importantly, to be as tasty as they are convenient.

And bean lovers are already hooked. One reviewer said: “Easy to prepare and absolutely delicious… This is now a regular purchase.” Another admitted: “These beans are so delicious and taste homemade that I low key pretend I made them when friends come over. They are the perfect side dish on taco night.”

The launch comes at a time when global consumption of beans and pulses has grown by 30% over the past decade. This has been driven primarily by changing eating habits: 63% of Brits say they want to eat healthier, 61% are cutting back on meat and 49% want to boost their protein. However, despite this increase in popularity, UK consumption remains low with the average consumer eating just 28g of beans and pulses per day.

At the same time, adventurous flavour trends are booming, with Mexican, Italian and Indian just some of those cuisines leading the way in UK kitchens.

“Beanz Meanz Heinz. But now, more than ever before,” said Alessandra de Dreuille, Director of Meals at Heinz.

“Combining our years of beans expertise with consumer cravings for adventurous recipes and world foods our new range takes everything people love about beans: the taste, the convenience, the comfort, and serves them up in new, delicious ways to enjoy at mealtimes.

“Ready in minutes, our three new dishes make it easier than ever for Brits to enjoy and add even more beans and pulses as part of their daily meals. Each one is made with only natural ingredients, contains no artificial flavours, is low in sugar, a source of protein and fibre, and provides at least 1 of your 5 a day.”

“Perfect for quick lunches on their own, or served alongside family favourites for weeknight dinners, such as tacos at a Mexican feast or with a naan for a delicious curry night. It may be a new way to enjoy Heinz Beanz, but we know beans fans will obsess over them just as much.”

Because when it comes to Beanz, it has to be Heinz.
