Kayli O'Connell, 38, was left shocked after discovering a brick had been hurled through the double-glazed window of her Bradford salon on October 5. The damage is expected to cost a whopping £2,000 to repair, but rather than let the vandal ruin her business, Kayli spotted an unusual opportunity.

Noticing the shattered glass resembled a perfect spider's web, she decided to transform the broken window into a spooky seasonal masterpiece. The result? A giant spider's web surrounded by pumpkins, bats and creepy Halloween decorations.

Kayli shared a video of the transformation on TikTok, captioned: 'From having our salon window smashed to smashing into Halloween'. The clip has since racked up more than 79,000 views, with viewers loving her creative response.

The 38-year-old said she had been left stressed and bewildered by the attack, which happened less than a year after opening her salon. She said: "It was a massive shock. I've had that salon coming up to a year and we've never had any issues."

The brick had smashed through both panes of glass and was even left abandoned on the pavement. Kayli said: "The rock was still left there like a kick in the teeth. Someone must've chucked it at the window and couldn't be bothered to pick it up."

But with replacement glass needing to be made to measure and repairs expected to take four weeks, she decided to make the best of a bad situation. She even designed the display herself, hiring someone to paint the artwork using a virtual reality headset.

Now, she says she hopes the culprit regularly walks past the salon and sees what their destructive act has created. She said: "It's payback and it's teaching the person that did this a lesson." And in a cheeky message to the mystery vandal, Kayli added: "Everyone absolutely loves it. It's timed so perfectly before Halloween so thank you to whoever did it."
