The General Tarleton, in the village of Ferrensby, North Yorkshire, is rewarding customers who can't get enough of its signature scotch eggs with a delicious deal. Punters who pick up a loyalty card can collect stamps every time they buy one of the pub's famous eggs – and after purchasing six, they'll bag their seventh for FREE. The offer launched on Monday, October 26, giving regulars and curious newcomers the chance to start filling their cards ahead of the pub's planned Scotch Egg Championships in 2027.

The award-winning pub was taken over and reopened by acclaimed Yorkshire chef Tommy Banks in autumn 2025, breathing new life into the village favourite. While its wider menu has already won praise, with one reviewer describing the food as "sublime", it is the humble scotch egg that has emerged as a star attraction.

The tasty treat is available on the bar menu, as well as featuring on the pub's lunch and à la carte menus. Now, the team is hoping to reward loyal customers while tempting more foodies to discover what all the fuss is about.

A spokesperson for The General Tarleton said: "The cards are a thank you to the regulars who keep coming back for them, and an invitation for newcomers to discover what all the fuss is about."

The move puts a playful spin on the traditional loyalty scheme, swapping coffee stamps and sandwich rewards for a distinctly British pub favourite. And with a dedicated Scotch Egg Championships event planned for 2027, it seems the pub's passion for the golden, crispy-coated snack is only getting started. For anyone who considers a perfectly cooked scotch egg the ultimate pub treat, the message is simple: get collecting, and that seventh bite could be on the house.
