Gilmore Girls is a noughties television drama that makes a comeback every autumn, thanks to its long-time fans.

The American show ran for seven seasons between 2000 and 2007, and is now available to binge watch on Netflix.

Fans seem to relate the show to autumn, based on the characters love for a warm cup of coffee and the fact the series often skips the summer season.

The storyline follows independent young mother Lorelai Gilmore, who is extremely close to her brainy daughter, Rory.

The show is set in Stars Hollow, a fictional and quaint town in Connecticut, where it always seems to be autumn.

For those who have seen it, let’s take a look at what the cast have been doing since the final episode in May 2007.

So where are the Gilmore Girls cast now?

Alexis Bledel

Alexis Bledel, 41, played Rory Gilmore, who starts a new private school in season one and navigates the young love life of a 16-year-old.

Whilst filming Gilmore Girls, Alexis also had roles in Tuck Everlasting (2002), The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (2005) and Sin City (2005).

Since her role as Rory Gilmore came to an end in 2007, she has taken on a plethora of film roles including The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 (2008), The Good Guy (2009), Post Grad (2009), Remember Sunday (2013), Jenny’s Wedding (2015), and Crypto (2019).

She returned for the first reunion of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life in 2016, where she reprised her role as Rory Gilmore.

A year later, Alexis took on a notable role as Emily Malek in television series The Handmaid’s Tale - a role she had until May this year.

The actress married actor Vincent Kartheiser in 2014 after they met on the set of Mad Men.

A year after getting married at a private ceremony in California, the pair had a son. However, they got a divorce in August this year.

Lauren Graham

Lauren Graham, 55, played Lorelai Gilmore. Lorelai had Rory when she was just 16-years-old, and struggles to have a good relationship with her own mother.

Whilst filming Gilmore Girls, Lauren also had roles in Bad Santa (2003) The Pacifier (2005) and Because I Said So (2007).

When her role as Lorelai Gilmore came to an end after seven-years, she took on a number of significant roles including in Evan Almighty (2007), Flash of Genius (2008), The Answer Man (2009), and It’s Kind of a Funny Story (2010).

Lauren took on a notable role as Sarah Braverman in television series Parenthood, between 2010 and 2015.

In 2016, she reprised her role as Lorelai Gilmore to return for the one season reunion of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.

Last year, she took on the role of Alex in the series The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers.

The actress met actor Peter Krause in 1995, but the pair didn’t start dating until they worked together on the set of Parenthood in 2010.

In 2016, Peter starred in the Gilmore Girls reunion - as Harry the park ranger - alongside Lauren.

However, the pair never married and in June this year, they split up after 12-years.

Melissa McCarthy

Melissa McCarthy, 52, played Sookie St James, who is a chef, as well as Lorelai’s best friend and business partner.

Melissa is one of the most famous actors from the Gilmore Girls cast and she has starred in over 40 films.

Some of which include Bridesmaids (2011), This is 40 (2012), Identity Thief (2013), Tammy (2014), St Vincent (2014), Life of the Party (2018), Can You Ever Forgive Me? (2018), Superintelligence (2020), and Thunder Force (2021).

She is also set to take on the huge role of Ursuala in the upcoming live action version of The Little Mermaid, which is set to be released in May next year.

From 2010 to 2016, she played Molly Flynn in Mike & Molly, and last year she took on two further television roles in The Great Giveback and God’s Favourite Idiot.

In 2016, she also returned for the one-season reunion of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, as she reprised her role as Rory Gilmore.

The actress married actor Ben Falcone in 2005, and the pair have two children; 15-year-old Vivian and 15-year-old Georgette.

The couple have co-starred in What to Expect When You’re Expecting, Enough Said, and God’s Favourite Idiot.

Scott Patterson

Scott Patterson, 64, played Luke Danes. Luke was the owner of the town’s diner, which supplies the great coffee, and he becomes a love interest of Lorelai’s.

Scott has taken on a handful of movie roles since 2007, including Love at the Christmas Table (2012), Prisoner of War (2014), and Kidnapped: The Hannah Anderson Story (2015).

He also played the role of Agent Peter Stahm in Saw four, five and six.

However, he has been best known since for his television role as Michael Buchanan in the one-season drama The Event, between 2010 and 2011.

In 2016, Scott returned for the mini series reunion of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, as he reprised his role as Luke Danes.

The actor married Kristine Saryan in 2014, after divorcing his ex-wife almost three decades before.

Milo Ventimiglia

Milo Ventimiglia, 45, played Jesse Mariano. Jesse came to Stars Hollow to stay with his Uncle Luke and soon became a love interest of Rory’s.

Since leaving the fictional town of Stars Hollow, Milo has taken on a number of television and film roles.

His film credits include Dirty Deeds (2005), Pathology (2008), Static (2012), Grown Ups 2 (2013), Madtown (2016), Devil’s Gate (2017), and Second Act (2018).

Milo also played Jack Pearson in all six seasons of This Is Us from 2016 to 2022, as well as Peter Petrelli in four seasons of Heroes between 2006 and 2010.

In 2016, he reprised his role as Jesse Mariano to return for the one-season reunion of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.

He and Chad Michael Murray (who played Tristan Dugray in Gilmore Girls) also co-starred in three seasons of the thriller series Chosen.

Milo made his first public appearance with his girlfriend Kelly Egarian in March this year.

He had previously dated his Gilmore Girls co-star Alexis Bledel.

Liza Weil

Liza Weil, 45, played Paris Keller. Paris was a classmate of Rory’s at Chilton and the two were often competiting to be top of the class.

Liza’s television series career didn’t end in 2007, as she has since picked up a number of prominent roles.

She played Amanda Tanner in Scandal, Dr Glass in Anyone But Me, and Katherine in The Cleaning Lady .

Her and Kelly Bishop (who played Emily Gilmore in Gilmore Girls) co-starred in one season of Bunheads in 2012.

Liza also took on a huge role as associate attorney Bonnie Winterbottom in How to Get Away with Murder - a role she had for six years.

In 2016, she appeared in two episodes of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life as Paris Geller.

She also has a number of films to add to her credits, including Little Fish, Strange Pond (2009), The Missing Person (2009), Mars (2010), Smiley (2012) and Women Is Losers (2021).

Liza married Prison Break actor Paul Adelstein in 2006, but the pair broke up 11-years later.

They share one daughter, 12-year-old Josephine Elizabeth Weil-Adelstein.
