Kanye West, who legally changed his name to Ye last year, can’t seem to stay out of the spotlight for long - most recently, the rapper had launched a number of public feuds against the likes of Billie Eilish, Kid Cudi, Pete Davidson and his soon to be ex-wife Kim Kardashian in a series of Instagram posts which have since been mostly deleted.

West has now said that he “takes accountability” for his actions against Davidson and Kardashian on Instagram.

This is what you need to know.

What’s going on between Kanye and Billie Eilish?

West has said that he won’t be performing at Coachella unless Bad Guy singer Billie Eilish apologises to Travis Scott.

West, who was recently named as one of the southern California festival’s three main headliners alongside Eilish and Harry Styles, called for an apology after Eilish paused her show in Atlanta to help a member of the crowd get an inhaler.

Social media footage from the concert shows Eilish halting her set after spotting an audience member who was struggling to breath.

Pointing into the crowd, Eilish asks: “Do you need an inhaler?”

She also adds: “Guys, give it some time. Don’t crowd… We’re taking care of our people, hold on. I wait for people to be okay until I keep going.”

West has perceived her comments as a reference to Scott’s deadly Astroworld festival, where 10 concert-goers, including a nine-year-old boy, were killed.

The festival took place in November of last year and Scott received severe backlash after he continued to perform whilst emergency services attempted to help audience members. Scott, and festival organiser Live Nation, are facing hundreds of lawsuits.

In a now deleted Instagram post, West wrote that Scott did not know that fans were in danger whilst performing at the Astroworld festival, and that he was “very hurt by what happened”.

West wrote: “Come on Billie we love you please apologise to Trav and to the families of the people who lost their lives no one intended this to happen.”

He added: “And yes Trav will be with me at Coachella but now I need Billie to apologise before I perform.”

Eilish, who was named international artist of the year for the third-consecutive year at the Brit Awards, denied making any references to Scott.

“Literally never said a thing about Travis. Was just helping a fan,” she wrote in reply to West’s Instagram post.

The grandparents of Ezra Blount, the nine-year-old boy who died at the Astroworld festival, have criticised West for his actions towards Eilish.

Grandfather Bernon told Rolling Stone that it was “an idiotic thing” for West to say, and grandmother Tericia added that Eilish was “caring for the patrons at her concert”.

She said: “I just think that’s crazy of Kanye to even let that demand [for an apology] to come out of his mouth.”

What did Kanye say about Kid Cudi?

West has also had a public falling out with fellow rapper Kid Cudi, stating that he would no longer be making an appearance on his forthcoming album Donda 2.

In another Instagram post which has since been deleted, West posted a handwritten note which said that Kid Cudi ‘will not be on Donda [2] because he’s friends with you know who” and that “we all speak in Billie [sic] language now”.

The “you know who” mentioned in his post refers to comedian and SNL star Pete Davidson, who is dating West’s ex Kim Kardashian.

Cudi responded to the post in the comments, writing: “Too bad I don’t wanna be on ur album u f**kin dinosaur hahaha everyone knows I’ve been the best thing about ur albums since i met u. Ima pray for you brother.”

Cudi also responded on Twitter, where he wrote: “We talked weeks ago bout this. You’re whack for flipping the script and posting this lie just for a look on the internet. You ain’t no friend. BYE.”

West followed up by accusing Cudi of betraying him, posting a picture on Instagram of West, Cudi, Davidson and actor Timothée Chalamet from 2019. In the post, West had crossed out Davidson’s face with a large red X.

He captioned the post: “I JUST WANTED MY FRIEND TO HAVE MY BACK THE KNIFE JUST GOES IN DEEPER.”

West then posted a picture which parioded the poster of Captain America: Civil War. One side featured West, his (now ex) girlfriend Julia Fox, Drake, Travis Scott and Future facing off against those on the other side - Davidson, Kardashian, Cudi, Eilish and Taylor Swift.

What’s his beef with Pete Davidson?

Davidson is currently dating West’s ex Kim Kardashian, a fact that the rapper has had a lot to say about.

Most recently, West called Davidson a “d**khead” in a deleted Instagram post. He posted a paparazzi photo of the comedian and wrote: “LOOK AT THIS D**KHEAD. I WONDER IF INSTAGRAM GONNA SHUT DOWN MY PAGE FOR DISSING HILARY CLINTON’S EX BOYFRIEND.”

In a post which has been deleted, West called out Davidson, referring to him as “Skete” instead of Pete.

He wrote, in all capitals: “FOR EVERYONE MARRIED HOLD YOUR SPOUSE CLOSE MAKE SURE THEY KNOW HOW MUCH YOU LOVE AND APPRECIATE THEM BECAUSE THERES A SKETE LURKING IN EVERY DIRTY ASS ALLEY WAITING TO HELP DESTROY YOUR FAMILY AND WALK AROUND IN CALVIN KLEINS AROUND YOUR CHILDREN I WISH MY WIFE WAS WITH ME AND OUR CHILDREN SITTING AT THE 50 YARD LINE @kimkardashian ALWAYS REMEMBER WEST WAS YOUR BIGGEST W.”

West has also mentioned Davidson in the lyrics of multiple new songs.

In Eazy West raps: “God saved me from the crash, just so I can beat Pete Davidson’s a**.”

Featuring on Fivio Foreign’s single City of God, West references Davidson with a lyric about SNL, of which Davidson is famously a cast member.

“This afternoon, a hundred goons pullin’ up to SNL, when I pull up, it’s dead on arrival,” West says.

Davidson recently referred to Kardashian as his girlfriend for the first time in an interview with People TV in which he talked about his fame.

He said: “I don’t really have Instagram - I don’t have Instagram or Twitter or any of that stuff. So, most of my daily life is getting into cars and showing up to a set.

“Or, if I’m off, I just either hang with my friends or chill with my girlfriend inside. So I don’t do much.

“Once in a while, someone will scream something at you, or it might be hard to get Dunkin’ Donuts. But other than that, it’s pretty fine. It’s not awful. It could be way worse.”

When asked about his plans for February 14 this year, Davidson said: “I don’t think I’ve ever had a Valentine’s Day thing really, so this would be the first year that I’m thinking about Valentine’s Day plans.”

In another now deleted post, West shared a picture of Kardashian and Davidson out on a date and wrote that he “don’t have been with Kim” and that he’s “not giving up on my family”.

He also added in the post that “I bought this coat for Kim before SNL I thought it was particularly special”.

West said that he has “faith that we’ll be back together” and publicly declared that he wants his family to be back together.

West’s Instagram has since been wiped of all posts, except for two, in one of which he has said that he “takes accountability” for his actions.

The global megastar also acknowledged that his use of all capital letters when posting online made it appear that he was “screaming” and said he was working on his communication.

“I’ve learned that using all caps makes people feel like I’m screaming at them,” he wrote in a new post, which was written in lower-case.

“I’m working on my communication. I can benefit from a team of creative professionals, organisers, mobilizers and community leaders.

“Thank everybody for supporting me. I know sharing screenshots was jarring and came off as harassing Kim.

“I take accountability.”

He added: “I’m still learning in real time. I don’t have all the answers. To be a good leader is to be a good listener.”

Is Kanye West still with Julia Fox?

Representatives for the Uncut Gems actress have confirmed that she and West are no longer together, although they remain “close friends and collaborators”.

West and Fox met on New Year’s Eve in Miami and were later pictured together attending the Tony Award-nominated Slave Play on Broadway.

But a spokesperson for Fox told the PA news agency on Monday (14 February) their relationship was over.
