Four members of a single family - including brothers aged 15 and seven - have died in a horrific head-on motorway crash.

Tributes have been paid to the pair - Filip, 15, and seven-year-old Dominic - who were killed instantly after the incident, on the M6 in Cumbria on October 15. They died, along with their father Jaroslaw Rossa, 42, after a head-on collision with a car driving the wrong way on the busy route. His partner Jade McEnroe, 33, also died when the Toyota they were travelling in hit a Skoda on the northbound carriageway.

Jade's son Arran Martin, seven, was airlifted to hospital and was still fighting for his life in hospital on Tuesday. Filip and Dominic's heartbroken mother, Kamila, said the boys were her "beloved angels".

"Filip was very intelligent, sensitive and full of love. We will never forget his smile, open arms, and the words "tuli, tuli" (hugs, hugs)," she said. He was fascinated by computer games but also incredibly good at chess. He loved chemistry and dreamed of studying at the University of Glasgow.

"Dominic was always smiling, very resolute and sociable. He was extremely caring, always thinking of others first, and the first to help if someone was in trouble. Always surrounded by a group of friends of all ages. He loved dinosaurs and Pokémon, but most of all he loved penguins and dreamed of adopting one. Our lives will never be the same again."

Jaroslaw and Jade, of Glasgow, were killed in the horror crash, near Tebay services, at just after 4pm. Jade's parents said she was "so loved", adding: "We will miss you every day."

Cumbria Police said they received multiple reports of a Skoda travelling southbound on the northbound carriageway before the smash, with officers en-route when reports of the crash came in. They previously confirmed the driver of the Skoda, a man from Cambridgeshire, also died instantly. His identity has not been released.

Arran's dad Andy, who has been keeping a vigil at his bedside in hospital in Newcastle, said: "I would like to thank everyone for their kind messages, to the emergency services and the members of the public that assisted at the scene."

Now, an online fundraiser has been set up to support Arran and his father, with money raised going towards Andy's transport between Scotland and England while his son is treated at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle.

"As Arran bravely fights through his recovery, we want to ensure his dad can remain by his side every day without financial pressures. Arran remains in a coma although he is doing better," the appeal said.
