Sally Jacks spent four weeks creating the display at her home in Burnley, Lancashire, after her husband suggested a Traitors theme.

The 49-year-old estimates the family has spent around £550 on decorations, including a round table, giant skeletons, a peacock, firepit and homemade turret.

But the most unusual props are two genuine coffins which Sally collected from a funeral parlour.

She said: “It’s a bit sick and horrible but we picked up real coffins from a funeral parlour.

“One’s going to go inside and one outside. That freaks me out. The woman from the funeral parlour thought it was hilarious.”

Sally has even filmed herself emerging from one of the coffins dressed as host Claudia Winkleman, complete with black cloak and wig.

Her husband and son will dress as Traitors for a private Halloween party at the house.

The family say the timing of the display alongside the Celebrity Traitors finale on Friday, October 30, is pure coincidence.

Sally said her husband came up with the idea around eight months ago after convincing her to watch the show.

She said: “I was a bit funny at first because I don’t like the lies, but once I left my morals at the door and looked at it as just a game, I really got into it as well.”

The couple have built much of the display themselves, with Sally saying they have spent evenings working on it after finishing work.

She added: “The skeleton is a massive one from The Range and my husband has built the plinth.

“We put a peacock out and my husband’s built a turret and we’ve got a big firepit.”

Sally has been decorating her home for Halloween since before the pandemic and says the display now attracts visitors from outside the area.

She is expecting around 1,000 trick-or-treaters on October 31 and has spent roughly £300 on sweets alone.

“Our front street is busier than McDonald’s drive-through,” she said. “It’s like Manchester Airport.

“We have people that travel over from Manchester to see our display and I love it. We do it for the community.”

The decorations will not stay up for long. Sally plans to start dismantling the Halloween display on November 1 so she can begin preparing the house for Christmas.

She said: “We absolutely adore seeing kids’ faces getting all excited.

“It’s just exciting and we love it for everybody. I want to give my son terrific memories.”
