While the first few days of June have seen sunshine return the UK, a “cold Arctic air” is set to make temperatures drop, with the real possibility of snow in some areas. The Met Office has said that from Wednesday, June 5 there may bee flutterings of snow in some regions of Scotland, putting a dampener on those who thought summer was finally here.
In an update, the Met Office said: “Breezy in the north with a mixture of sunny spells and blustery showers, and some snow over mountain tops. Largely dry in the south with sunshine and perhaps just the odd shower. Feeling cool in the northwesterly breeze.”

While further south won’t quite feel the chill from the snow, the chill will be felt in the air as temperatures remain lower than they have been with a breezy outlook.
Over the weekend however, there could be a gradual rise in temperatures once again with more June-like milder conditions returning - around 17ºC in the south east 13ºC in Scotland. The Met Office’s forecast from Friday through Sunday says: “Staying similar over the next few days with sunshine and blustery showers in the north. Drier across southern parts of the UK, with temperatures here slowing increasing over the weekend.”
