Black Friday is fast approaching.

It’s nearly that time of the year when retailers slash prices on products from tech and TVs to toothbrushes and kids’ toys.

Online conglomerate Amazon has been at the forefront of Black Fridays of the past and are expected to go big again in 2021.

Here’s a look at what deals are likely to crop up from Amazon, when the offers will go live and how Prime members can get early access to big savings.

What is Black Friday?

Black Friday is a massive sales event held in the US and UK each year on the Friday after Thanksgiving - it has recently spread to other countries around the world.

Its origins are somewhat unknown, with variations of the phrase used through recent history, but it first became a shopping phenomenon in Philadelphia, in the US, in the early 1960s.

It took 50 years for the mega discount day to make its way over the Atlantic to the UK.

In the early 2010s, US owned retailers such as Amazon and Asda started to hold Black Friday promotions before other household names like Argos and John Lewis joined in from 2014.
