Two beauty advent calendars - but which one really gives you more for your money?

Beauty advent calendars are getting bigger, more expensive and, thankfully, packed with more products than ever. But when you’re spendingover £100 on one, you want to know you’re getting something genuinely worth the money.

This year, Natalie tried the Boots Luxe Beauty Advent Calendar, while Rochelle got stuck into the Lookfantastic Beauty Advent Calendar 2026. From the brands and products inside to the packaging, price and overall value, we wanted to see how the two compared.

After trying a different calendar each, we’re putting them head to head to answer one question: which beauty advent calendar would we actually spend our own money on?

First impressions

Natalie says: “The Boots calendar comes in a deep burgundy shade with gold, pink and pale blue details that look a bit like glittery party poppers have exploded across the box. That design continues inside, so when you open it up, the whole thing feels really special. I think that makes a difference with an advent calendar. Half the fun is opening a little door every day, and the Boots one feels like more of an occasion.”

Rochelle says: “I like the choice of deep purple for the outer of the calendar this year, it looks and feels luxurious and is a colour associated with prestige so it seems fitting. There isn't really an additional artwork on it, just the LookFantastic logo, but I don't think it needs anything extra when the contents speak for themselves, and it stays looking classy this way. This has no doubt helped to keep the cost of the calendar down if the team haven't had to invest extra money in an elaborate packaging design! This doesn't take away the excitement of opening the calendar at all for me as it's still the anticipation of wondering just what's behind each door.”

The price and value

Natalie: “Boots gives you more of the luxury brands I actually want. Normally, I'm a huge fan of the Lookfantastic advent calendar, but this year I think Boots is giving it a serious run for its money. It's the brands that make the difference. Boots has some really big names in the box, including Estée Lauder, Lancôme and Nuxe, and these are products I can genuinely see myself using.

“Yes, you're paying an extra £30, but I think the contents justify it. When I'm buying a beauty advent calendar, I don't just want the biggest possible value figure. I want to open the doors and actually get excited about what's inside.”

The Boots Luxe Beauty Advent Calendar 2026

The Boots Luxe Beauty Advent Calendar

  • Price - £150
  • Products - 27 including 19 full-size products
  • Worth - £709.59

Rochelle: “The LookFantastic calendar is the cheapest of the two, even though it contains the same amount of products, so that's a win for LookFantastic in my eyes. However, I do acknowledge that it is worth less so it should have a smaller price tag.

“What I like about the LookFantastic calendar, and where I think it comes into its own, are that all the products are either full-size or deluxe size. Alongside the 19 full sized products there are seven deluxe products. My favourite being the Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Night Cream Deluxe Size, which is in itself worth £78 - a huge portion of the calendar's overall cost.”

  • Costs - £120
  • Products - 27 including 19 full-size products
  • Worth - £665

What's inside?

Natali: “Boots has the edge because there are several products that I would genuinely be excited to find behind an advent calendar door. You've got big named luxury brands, alongside some other big beauty names, and that gives the calendar a real luxury feel.

“My standout products include the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Lift + Sculpt Eye Cream, which is full-size, the Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm, also full-size, and the NARS The Multiple Blush Stick in Orgasm Crave. Those are the kinds of products that make me think, yes, this is what I want from a £150 beauty advent calendar.

Rochelle: “Alongside the Elemis product I mentioned, the other standout product has to be the Avant Hyaluronic Acid Molecular Boost Eye Cream Full Size, which is worth £98. The value of that product is incredible, and it's also a really great product that everyone can make use of - who doesn't have a problem with fine lines or dark circles under their eyes?

“It's one of my main beauty concerns so I was really happy to have this included. It's a lot of money for a stand alone product, but it feels more than justified in the context of the advent calendar and everything else you get. At the same time, it feels like a treat too - which is what an advent calendar should feel like.

Which beauty advent calendar wins?

We can’t agree on a winner. If you're mainly interested in skincare, Lookfantastic has the slight advantage with 13 products compared with Boots' 11. Boots has the edge for makeup and haircare, while both calendars contain two fragrance products.

Ultimately, it comes down to what you want from your advent calendar. Are you looking for the most impressive luxury brands and overall value, or do you want to keep the spend closer to £120 without feeling like you've compromised on the contents?

TOG24

☀️ Summer may be fading, but this deal is scorching. The TOG24 Jacinda Women’s Supersoft Jersey Playsuit has plummeted from £50 to just £8, saving shoppers £42 in a huge 84% reduction.

💗 Made mainly from soft viscose and cotton, the bright pink playsuit features an elasticated drawstring waist, back-button fastening and two handy hip pockets. It’s an easy throw-on outfit for holidays, warm weekends or getting next summer’s wardrobe sorted ludicrously early.

⚠️ The catch? Only selected sizes are still available, and an £8 clearance price is unlikely to help them hang around. Check whether your size has survived here.
