The Shark FlexBreeze has become my go-to for staying cool thanks to its cordless charging, strong airflow and clever misting function, but there’s one thing to know before relying on it overnight.

I’ve been using the Shark FlexBreeze HydroGo Cordless Fan Portable Fan through umpteen UK heatwaves now - and I love it. It’s easily one of the most useable, powerful fans I’ve ever owned.

Given the record temperatures that the UK seems to have been experiencing every other day at the moment, it’s not surprising that it has been out of stock for the last few weeks. But, we have good news - especially considering that a fourth heatwave is predicted for August - the Shark FlexBreeze HydroGo Cordless Fan Portable Fan is finally back in stock.

Going by how popular it has been over the last few weeks, and how long it has taken for a re-stock to take place, I would suggest buying one now if you’re interested. If you wait for the next heatwave to come you may be disappointed, and I think it’s always better to be prepared.

What I liked about the FlexBreeze HydroGo Cordless Fan Portable Fan

What immediately stood out to me is that it can be used cordless, so it completely changes how and where you can use it. Most fans are limited by where your plug sockets are, which can be frustrating if you want airflow in a particular spot, but with this one you can charge it up with the included cable and then move it around freely. That flexibility makes it far more adaptable for the reality of everyday use.

I’ve found myself using it all over the house; in my home office while working, in the kitchen when cooking, and even taking it outside into the garden. It’s so easy to reposition, there are no wires to have to drag around, and also no extension leads, and no need to constantly unplug and replug it elsewhere.

That freedom alone makes it feel much more convenient than many other fans on the market - and that’s why the Shark FlexBreeze HydroGo Cordless Fan Portable Fan is my top fan choice.

Best place to buy the Shark FlexBreeze HydroGo Cordless Fan Portable Fan

The Shark FlexBreeze HydroGo Cordless Fan Portable Fan has been made in seven colours, but at the time of writing only three colours have been restocked - quartz (pink), dove (light grey) and glacier blue - via Shark directly. The price for all colours is £129.99.

The fan is available via Amazon too, but we have found that in recent times, presumably due to demand, that price of the fan jumps dramatically higher than the £129.99 RRP.

At the moment, the quartz and glacier versions are available for the fan for the RRP, so carefully check the price before buying. The price does also seem to vary by colour.

Some orders via Amazon also seem to pre-orders, with delivery expected in mid to late August. Again, check the specific details before clicking ‘buy’. If you see a deal you are happy with, I would advise buying sooner rather than later as I have seen stock levels and price points for the fan on Amazon change dramatically overnight in the last few weeks.

Shark have kept the price of the fan at £129.99 - it just depends if it’s in stock or not.

The cooling power is also really impressive. Even on the lower settings, it gives off a strong enough breeze to make a noticeable difference, and on the higher settings it’s powerful enough to cool a room quickly or provide instant relief on particularly hot days and nights.

I like that there are multiple speed settings too, so you can adjust it depending on how much airflow you want, whether it’s just a gentle breeze or something much stronger for when the heat really ramps up.

Another thing I’ve been impressed by is the design. It’s lightweight enough to carry around easily but still feels solid and well-made. It doesn’t feel flimsy like some portable fans can, and the overall build quality feels premium. It’s also straightforward to set up and use, which I appreciated straight away. There’s no overcomplicated controls or fiddly instructions.

The misting function is another feature I’ve really enjoyed, especially on particularly hot days. It adds a fine cooling spray to the airflow, which makes the breeze feel even more refreshing and gives it almost that outdoor holiday feel when you’re sitting in the garden.

The one limitation of the FlexBreeze HydroGo Cordless Fan Portable Fan

The battery life is decent for general daytime use and moving it around the house, but there is one thing worth mentioning if you’re planning to use it overnight. On the highest setting, I found that the charge doesn’t quite last all the way through the night, so if you rely on constant cooling while sleeping, it’s best to make sure it’s plugged into the mains before you settle into bed. That way you get the best of both worlds; portability when you want it, but also uninterrupted use when you need it.

My overall verdict on the Shark FlexBreeze HydroGo Cordless Fan Portable Fan

Overall, I think the Shark FlexBreeze HydroGo Cordless Fan Portable Fan is a fantastic option if you want a fan that’s more versatile than the average plug-in model. The cordless feature makes it incredibly easy to use in different spaces, the cooling power is strong, and the build quality feels like it will last.

For me, it’s that combination of portability, flexibility and performance that makes it stand out, and I’d happily recommend it to anyone looking for a more adaptable way to stay cool.

Available in multiple colours including quartz (light pink), lilac, mint, charcoal and glacier (light blue).
