The hit sports-comedy TV series returns for another Road Trip around Britain and Ireland as they take on Dingle to Dover.

A League of Their Own was initially started by James Cordon, who has later left due to Coronavirus restrictions and his commitments in America.

The show has had 16 series so far as well as two US Road trips, two European Road trips and what will be two UK and Ireland Road trips.

From Dingle to Dover is set to be former cricket player Freddie Flintoff’s last hurrah on the show after announcing he was leaving back in February.

The one-series England captain joined the show when it launched in 2010 but took to Instagram to say: “It’s been 12 years, 16 series, 6 road trips across America and Europe, 2 BAFTAs and a mud bath I’d rather forget, but now the time has come to leave the amazing ALOTO team.

“I’d like to say a huge thanks to all of you who tuned in over the years and to everyone I have worked with on the show - what an unforgettable journey it’s been.”

In this final stint for the iconic Cricketer, Flintoff will once again team up with Jamie Redknapp as they invite guests along the way to complete a series of challenges, even swapping their cars for a hot pink Mustang to transform into low budget Elvis Presleys.

What to expect from “From Dingle to Dover

The two former athletes will drive from Dingle in Ireland to Dover in Kent as they bring in different guests along the way to compete against each other and see who must take on the ultimate forfeit: dangling from a helicopter on a bungee rope.

Speaking to the press ahead of the release of the series, Redknapp said: “I knew I really didn’t want to do it. Even Freddie was scared about doing this one. It really was horrible. Dangling from a helicopter from a bungee rope is not my kind of entertainment. Whoever was going to do it was certainly going to have a shock coming their way.”

Who will appear as guests on the show?

The programme has revealed that comedians such as Alan Carr and ALOTO presenter Romesh Ranganthan, Maisie smith, Tom Davis will appear as well as the likes of boxers Tony Bellew, Tyson Fury, former footballer Patrice Evra and Spice Girl Mel B.

Redknapp said on Fury: “Everyone was great but the one I think people will like because he’s so interesting, no matter what you think about him, is world champion boxer Tyson Fury.

“He’s such an amazing character and has that special magnetism. You don’t know what he’s going to say, what he’s going to do and to spend a whole day with him in Morecambe was quite surreal if I’m honest.

“He joined in everything and just to have him singing songs in the car with us felt like having one of your mates in the car. It was quite bizarre. Freddie and I were really blown away by him.”
