It is hard to believe that Carlos Alcaraz is only 20 years old as he displayed incredible maturity when he collected his trophy for beating Novak Djokovic to win his first Wimbledon men’s singles title. Only hours later after his win, he joined Marketa Vondrousova, who won the women’s singles title at the annual champions’ ball. 

Carlos’s father Carlos Alcaraz Snr who was once ranked amongst the top 40 tennis players in Spain. According to The Sun, “He introduced his son to tennis when young Carlos was just four years old, becoming his coach and mentor.”

Carlos’s mother is Virginia Garfia Escandón, who was seated next to her husband Carlos at the Wimbledon men’s singles final. Although she is not from a sporting background herself, she has always been incredibly supportive of her son, and was also there to watch him win the US Open Championships in 2022. 

Carlos does not have any sisters, but has three brothers, Alvaro Alcaraz Garfia who is an actor, and two other younger brothers, Sergio and Jaime Aclaraz who are still at school.

Calvin Klein

In January 2023, it was announced that Carlos Alcaraz (then 19) was the new face and ‘body’ of Calvin Klein’s underwear campaign, “Calvins or nothing.” The campaign also featured actress Maya Hawke (the daughter of Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke) and footballer Romelu Lukaku.

In one of the videos Calvin Klein shared on its Instagram page, Carlos can be seen flexing in underwear inspired by a 90s design. Comments on the post included: “Literally trying to break us,” with fire emojis, whilst another said: “CK-Carlito Klein.”

Carlos Alcaraz reportedly became one of the youngest players to sign a deal with Rolex, who also sponsor the likes of Roger Federer. According to SportsManor, “Carlos Alcaraz can potentially earn $8 million per year with his Rolex deal following the footsteps of Roger Federer.”

When his match ended with Novak, Carlos was seen putting on a watch by the prestigious brand before collecting his trophy from Catherine, Princess of Wales

Nike

On the 16th July 2023, at 19.04pm, Nike tweeted: “The Alcaraz Era is upon us. An age in which age doesn’t matter and impossible shots are served with a smile. Congrats Carlos Alcaraz, youngest world no.1, on major no.2. Your time has only just begun.” They then shared a photograph of Carlos, with the caption:”Don’t belong to an era, start your own”. They then shared the Nike logo with the words, “Just Do It.”

It is reported that Carlos signed with Nike in January 2020. Not only does he wear Nike Air Zoom Vapor Pros on the court, but is also a fan of their bucket hats too!

The Independent reported that “The Nike hat, which is a favourite of the new champion’s has sold out on the company’s website.”

Louis Vuitton

In June 2023, it was announced that Carlos Alcaraz was the latest ambassador for the luxury label, Louis Vuitton. “For me, Louis Vuitton is really a brand that I have always looked to and when the opportunity to work with the team arose, it felt like a perfect partnership,” Carlos said.

According to Vogue, “Eagle-eyed tennis watchers will have already noted Alcaraz’s penchant for a jazzy sneaker and he’s previously expressed his admiration for the late Virgil Abloh’s playful approach to blurring the lines between sportswear and high fashion.”
