Meanwhile, Manchester United will hope to continue their impressive form at the Etihad Stadium as the Manchester derby returns on Sunday.

Man City are without a home win against the Red Devils since November 2018.

The race for the top four resumes as West Ham travel to Liverpool, Arsenal face Watford and Tottenham host Everton.

Here are this weekend’s tips for your FPL team...

Transfers in

Reece James (vs Burnley, Norwich)

Reece James returned to action in Chelsea’s Carabao Cup final defeat to Liverpool last weekend and could be in the frame to make his first start since December.

The defender had four goals and five assists in the Premier League prior to his injury and will be hopeful of picking up where he left off as Chelsea face two relegation candidates in Burnley and Norwich over the next week.

Joe Willock (vs Brighton, Southampton)

Joe Willock endured a difficult start to life in Newcastle following his permanent move in the summer.

However, the midfielder’s form has improved massively this year and he has scored twice in as many matches.

Willock scored in seven consecutive games at the end of last season so we know what he is capable of and will be confident of adding to his tally in the upcoming double gameweek.

Jose Sa (vs Crystal Palace, Watford)

Jose Sa has been exceptional for Wolves this season, claiming nine clean sheets and conceding 21 goals in 26 Premier League appearances.

Crystal Palace and Watford are both struggling for form and will find it very difficult to break down Wolves’ superb defence before they even reach Sa in between the sticks.

Transfers out

Nelson Semedo

Nelson Semedo has made 23 appearances for Wolves this season as they have impressed with their solid defence.

His addition may have seemed like a good idea considering their upcoming fixtures, however you may have missed that the Portugal international has suffered a hamstring injury.

It was reported yesterday that Semedo will be out for 4-8 weeks, with the earliest potential return date to be after the international break in April.

Kyle Walker-Peters

Kyle Walker-Peters has arguably been one of the best Premier League right-backs this season, while Southampton are currently enjoying a brilliant run of seven matches without defeat.

However, the defender was subbed off in the Saints’ FA Cup clash with West Ham earlier this week and may not be risked for their fixture against Aston Villa.

Captain

Philippe Coutinho (vs Southampton, Leeds United)

Philippe Coutinho has two goals and two assists since his January arrival at Aston Villa, though he hasn’t scored since their 3-3 draw with Leeds United.

However, Villa returned to winning ways last weekend as they beat Brighton and the Brazilian will be hopeful of a positive double gameweek.

While Southampton are in good form, Leeds will know exactly what he is capable of ahead of their meeting next Thursday.

Antonio Rudiger (vs Burnley, Norwich)

Antonio Rudiger has been one part of Chelsea’s brilliant defence this season, with only Man City conceding less goals than them in the Premier League.

The German will be confident of another impressive display against Burnley and Norwich, with both opponents struggling for goals.

Che Adams (vs Aston Villa, Newcastle)

Southampton’s upcoming matches against Aston Villa and Newcastle United will be tough ones, however Che Adams and the Saints are in brilliant form.

The striker has eight goals this season - three of which have come in his last four appearances.
