In the end, Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi did not accept Eddie Howe’s offer to join Newcastle United, opting instead to stay at Selhurst Park. It drew the line under what Howe described at the time as a “frustrating” transfer window, with the England international being his top transfer target.
Now, it looks like the deal may not only be off altogether, but Guehi could even join one of Newcastle’s rivals at the top of the Premier League table.

Hide AdTeamTalk has reported that there are likely to be bids in January for the Palace captain, with Chelsea putting themselves in the lead for his signature. Guehi came through Chelsea’s youth system, making his first-team debut for the Blues in 2019.
Their sources suggest that the 24-year-old still has strong relationships with both players and coaching staff at Stamford Bridge, and would be open to making a return.
Manchester United ‘ready’ to sign winger
Executives at Man United have made arrangements to spend big on a world class player, according to sources.
As previously reported by NationalWorld, the Red Devils are in the running to sign Serie A winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The Georgian international stunned fans at the Euros last summer, but has a contract with Napoli until 2027 - and won’t come cheap.

Hide AdAccording to Sport MediaSet, manager Ruben Amorim will offer Kvaratskhelia a contract worth more than £7m per year, on a five-year deal. Kvaratskhelia is valued at £90m and is also wanted by both Liverpool and Arsenal.
Playing on both the left wing and upfront for the Naples side, the 23-year-old was a crucial part of his side’s Scudetto win in 2022/23.
