The Alexandra Palace has become a sports host once more as the Masters Snooker tournament continues this weekend with the highly anticipated semi final and final. Neil Robertson was the defending champion at this year’s second triple crown event but was beaten by Shaun Murphy in the first round.

This is the 48th staging of the non-ranking snooker event and features the world’s top 16 players from around the world. Ronnie O’Sullivan and Judd Trump are two of the other biggest names of the sport to be competing this week, however the search for his eighth title came to a dramatic end when he was beaten 6-5 by Mark Williams yesterday.

Former Masters champion Yan Bingtao and 2021 UK Championship winner Zhao Xintong were both been suspended by the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association as part of a match-fixing investigation and have subsequently been replaced by David Gilbert and Hossein Vafaei.

Judd Trump and Barry Hawkins will face off in the third quarter-final tie this afternoon, before Stuart Bingham and Shaun Murphy meet this evening to decide the final two semi-final spots. Williams and Jack Lisowski have already confirmed their places in the final four tomorrow.
