Liverpool produced a five star performance, which included a Mo Salah hat-trick, to ramp up the pressure on Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

There had been voices of discontent with the way Man United has started the 2021/22 Premier League season, after a 4-2 drubbing away to Leicester City last time out.

It left the Red Devils fifth in the Premier League table after eight games played.

Solskjaer’s team have dropped to seventh in the EPL standings after the home humiliation against Jurgen Klopp’s side, in the Liverpool manager’s 200th win in charge.

What has Gary Neville said about Ole?

One time Man United team mate of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Gary Neville didn’t hold back from his assessment of the defeat to Liverpool.

Neville said: "It does come down to the coaching team, it’s nowhere near good enough. What stands out in my mind is their organisation around the press.

"The manager and his coaching staff have to take the blame for the pressing game today. Why would you do that? They are not a pressing team, they haven’t got it in them. Manchester United are kidding themselves that they are a pressing team, that they can coordinate it as one.

“This is the first super team they are playing against and they are being pulled apart like they wouldn’t believe. Liverpool have done their homework. The minute [United] play a proper team, this is what is going to happen. Half-decent teams are putting goals against them, proper teams will batter them. It’s crazy stuff there.”

Neville was speaking on Sky Sports after the final whistle on Sunday where he also thought Man United wouldn’t sack Solskjaer after that result.
