A British tourist is fighting for his life after plunging 10ft from a balcony in Cyprus.

The 56-year-old tried to jump off a ledge into a swimming pool at his villa but ended up crashing onto the pavement below before being quickly rushed to hospital in a serious condition. The Brit was staying in a mansion in Pegeia, Cyprus when he slipped while attempting the dangerous leap.

He was transferred to the Accident and Emergency Department of Pafos General Hospital shortly after the accident in an ambulance. Doctors then sent him to the Intensive Care Unit due to the seriousness of his injuries.

The man was staying in the villa with his friends at the time of the horror fall, Cypriot media reports. The incident comes after another Brit was rushed to hospital after plunging 15ft off his hotel balcony in Mallorca.

The man was left “seriously injured” as he landed on his head in broad daylight after a row with friends. The 27-year-old was rushed to hospital in the early hours of the morning. Neighbours claimed they saw him leaning out of the window of a flat in Palma before he fell head first to the ground.
