Thieves target £4m home of Love Island host Maya Jama and Manchester City centre-back Ruben Dias as stars are left 'devastated'

Love Island presenter Maya Jama and Manchester City player Ruben Dias are said to have been left “devastated” after thieves targeted their lavish Cheshire mansion.

The couple’s home was ransacked by “away day” burglars, who often target the homes of football player when they know they will be playing in high profile matches.

Jama, 31, was also out of the country at the time as she is currently presenting the latest series of Love Island All Stars in South Africa.

According to The Sun, Dias, 28, is said to have alerted authorities after returning home at around 11pm on Wednesday night (January 28) following Manchester City’s Champions League match against Galatasaray, which was taking place at the Etihad Stadium.

A source told the newspaper: “They are devastated. The house is the first they have moved into as a couple and is very special to them. Thankfully, neither was at home, but they are very upset that their personal space has been invaded. They love the house because it is tucked away down a very quiet street with no passing traffic.”

According to reports, thieves swiped jewellery, clothing and electronics from their home during the raid.

Jama and Dias, who are believed to have begun dating in early 2025, moved into the £4 million home in Cheshire just before Christmas. The sprawling property, which features a swimming pool, sauna and at-home gym, had previously been won in an Omaze property giveaway draw, with mum-of-two Emily Ward walking away with the top prize.

While Ms Ward is still the owner of the Alderley Edge property, it has been rented for an eye-watering sum of £20,000-per-month, according to the Daily Mail. The outlet also reports that the property is also currently on the market for sale.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “Shortly after 11.10pm on Wednesday 28 January, police received reports of a burglary at an address in Alderley Edge. Officers attended and found entry had been made to the property and a number of items had been stolen. Enquiries are currently ongoing.”

The raid marks the latest in a number of high-profile robberies in which Premier League stars have been targeted. Stars such as Jack Grealish, Raheem Sterling and Alexander Isak have all been victims of the so-called ‘away day’ robbery gangs in recent years.
