Former BBC radio presenter Carl Kingston’s son Andrew shared the news of his father’s death on Facebook and said: “I know that he had so many friends around the world, very many that we don't know. He lived for the radio and did what he loved right to the end."
"We all loved him so much and it's just very hard to process at the moment. RIP Dad, you will always be loved and missed by so many."

Hide AdAndy Dathan Brown also shared a tribute to Carl Kingston on Facebook and said: “I am absolutely gutted to hear about one of my best friends Carl Kingston passing away yesterday evening. I first met Carl in 2009 in Zermatt, Switzerland where via a mutual friend, Carl got me the job. I DJed alongside Carl at the Hotel Post, where I would DJ in the Broken BarDisco and Carl would do the oldies and party room called the Loft.


Andy went on to say that “He saw the best in everyone and lived for today. In his words live for today as you might not be here tomorrow. He will be deeply missed by so many people. Till the Zermatt dream team meet again, rest in peace Carl Kingston xxx.”
Paul Rusling also paid tribute to Carl Kingston on Facebook and said: “So sad to report that one of my best friends, DJ Carl Kingston passed away earlier today. We’ve been friends since 1969, but he was well known for his days on Radio Caroline, Viking, Aire. A total radio enthusiast, a good friend, Miss you already Carl.”
Presenter Stephanie Hirst said: “Carl kicked the door open for so many of us to have wonderful careers in the world of broadcasting. He mentored, nurtured and inspired us, always there for advice.”
