Former soap star turned Only Fans model who is having a baby with her step-brother responds to criticism
A former soap actress who is now an Only Fans model has hit bact at trolls who have criticised her for marrying her step-brother and having a baby with him.
29-year-old Scarlet Vas, who starred as Mishti Sharma in the popular Australian soap TV show Neighbours between 2017 and 2018, has caused a stir by announcing news of her pregnancy.
In 2021, Vas turned to OnlyFans to make money. But that’s not how the star has caused controversy among her fans. In the same year, she revealed she was in a relationship with her step-brother, Tayo Ricci. She’s shared details of their relationship online since then, including their 2023 wedding.
Now, she has announced the couple are expecting a baby - a girl - which she has called a “Christmas miracle”.
The star’s OnlyFans page is in collaboration with Ricci and the pair, who appear to have a familial connection through marriage, have previously addressed the unusual nature of their union - and it seems it doesn’t stop at their family ties.
In a now-viral clip, Vas once said: “I fell in love with my bf’s best friend... who happens to be my step bro."
Many people commented to express their shock at the union. One person said “this is weird”. Another said: “ Dear bro, just tell me, is it true that she is your step? Sis, are you and she step siblings.”
Vas has also previously addressed the couple’s critics and claimed she “isn’t too fussed” about their comments. In another video, recorded prior to their pregnancy announcement, the former actress also tackled the comments in a very head on way.
In the video, she asks her step-brother what he would want to spend his last day on earth doing, to which he replied: "You, I would impregnate you." Erm you're my step-brother, that's kinda f***ed up," Vas replied. Ricci answered: "Why are you laughing? I know what I want and I get what I want. I think everyone grilling us online for being in love. . . it doesn't matter if we have the same mother."
Vas also uploaded a video compilation to her Instagram showing the pair walking down the aisle after getting married to posing in the sunset a year later. As the video goes on, we see Ricci kneeling down to Vas' stomach, alongside the moment the pregnancy test showed their results.
Ricci is a 27-year-old Youtuber who is known for interviewing people shirtless. He gained over 14 million views for one of his videos from September 2021, and that was when he went viral.
The post goes on to show the pair in an ultrasound room, the sound of the baby's heartbeat in the background, and another video of Ricci kissing Vas' bump.
The pair have actually been met with some support from fans, with many commenting with their congratulations. There has been some backlash, however, with others also making negative comments about their OnlyFans platorm.
